by: ...Okay so this question has been asked a million times, but not this specifically to get an honest answer. Dispite all factors, if a sophomore PNM through formal recruitment meets what most houses are looking for, will she SPECIFICALLY be penalized for being a sophomore?

some houses will be taking sophomores and some won't. It depends where thy are lacking girls. If they have a balanced house now they probably will focus on first year students. Houses who needed sophomores/juniors for whatever reason probably did informal fall rush and filled those needs.

Truthfully it just depends on what the houses nationals want, how many new affiliates the house took in the fall and whether they can take a large amount of sophomores based on their numbers. DG took 17 sophomores in the winter '13 pledge class, AXiD took about 10 and 2 juniors, Tri-Delt took a few and so did KKG and even KD so it really just depends on the numbers. Don't go through rush scared to be a sophomore just be yourself and you'll get a good house.
