i did formal and dropped during pref round

well if you were already dropped from a house idk how good your chances really are because you could have been dropped for a number of different reasons that they may remember when it comes to informal. everyone thinks theyre gonna have this big connection and then disregard houses when they maybe happen to talk to a girl they dont have a lot in common with. I get that you don't want to pay all the big dues if you don't like it, but you're judging a whole big chapter off of like a small handful of people. No matter where you go you will find girls you have a connection with. even houses you may think you won't, you will find those people like you. So definitely try informal and look at all your options. not just one house who may have dropped you. still go for them tho! i wouldn't say it's desperate, just shows your interest, but don't go in thinking it will be super different; you may just get dropped again. but don't count everyone else out too, because those other houses still invited you back and probably would have loved for you to be their sister. just a thought sorry for big rant.

It doesn’t hurt. You may have been dropped from a house that didn’t really want to cut you, but had to based on numbers for rounds. I’ve had plenty of friends who have informally rushes chapters that dropped them Early & got in
