Some could be recruitment guides, some could have graduated a semester early, some could be sick that day, my chapter even had two seniors spend their last year abroad. While I definitely think retention is important (it’s not just 4 years, it’s for life and all that) I think there are many reasons behind a number of girls in a picture online.

In many houses, seniors get a "pass" from many required activities (recruitment, initiation, chapter meetings, etc). They are often too busy with internships, required classes, interviews...whatever...and can easily get excuse notes approved. Plus, many seniors will only be around for 1 semester with the new pledge class so they generally won't take a little from the PC.

not every girl participates as far as actually recruiting the PNMs, there are other behind the scenes things that happen too during recruitment that girls can participate in, even if they aren't meeting with the PMNs
