Normally I’d say “if that’s where you feel the most comfortable, who cares what anyone else thinks?” But I think your post kinda hits the nail on the head. You said they’re “smart, funny, and pretty.” Is being pretty one of the top three most important things to you? Have you felt a connection in each conversation? Do you see yourself working towards their philanthropy?

The fact that you honed in on how pretty they are is the crux of it. You like them because they’re pretty. They want you to like them because they’re pretty. They want more pretty girls who will continue to recruit more pretty girls. That’s one of their core values as an international organization and it is clearly one of yours, too. And honestly? If that’s what we tell PNMs (go with the chapter that has your values) then go for it! But just ask yourself if you really felt comfortable there, or if you felt flattered to be there.
