rushing as a junior

by:

Next year I’ll be a junior, and I want to get involved in Greek life. I was wondering if rushing as a junior would even be possible or if most houses wouldn’t want a junior new member? Any thoughts or advice? I’d be interested in doing formal or informal

I would recommend giving both formal and informal a shot! I know my house has taken juniors in both before. Definitely keep in mind that you may be dropped by a lot of houses during recruitment, but if you keep an open mind you should have a good chance. If you present yourself well and are willing to be in any sorority, you should at least give it a try.

I joined as a senior. Not a long time but def a good time. But join asap. And you can only do informal next semester bc it's the fall semester. I think it's late to wait till spring semester to do formal.

i wonder what type of things people do to get accepted into a sorority and what are they looking for and what type of personality you have to have.

that’s hard cause all sororities look for different types of girls and even the girls within them will have different opinions on what girls they want to join. ex.theta might b looking for girls that are super involved on campus, really good gpa etc, while a chi o could b looking for girls that are passionate about woman’s rights/ feminism/ girl power (and i’m not in these sororities so i don’t actually know if this is what they look for it’s just an example)
so legit just b urself but turn up the outgoing, friendly part since recruitment is kind of an interview and basically every sorority is looking for girls that are friendly
