Suggestions needed please.
First of all let me start with saying I am so happy (and quite envious) of the girls that got bids to their forever homes today. I decided to only put down one sorority after pref rather than both bc the other sorority was not one that I felt was a true fit for me. Well, I didn’t get a bid from my first choice and I couldn’t be more devastated. I am a sophomore and I am afraid I won’t get a chance again to join a sorority. Is there any hope for me with informal rush? Is it harder to get a bid as a sophomore, or is that just something I tell myself so I feel better?
What houses have done informal rush in the past? Is it the same houses every year? Any help/suggestions is appreciated.

Here is the deal. By suiciding, that meant you were not guaranteed a bid or eligible for a snap bid.
Yes you can do informal but at this point, nobody really knows who will be doing it. If a chapter only has a few openings, they will typically be invitation only so you might not have a selection.
As for fall informal, you will be a junior and again you choices will be limited. Similarly, if a chapter only has a few openings, they are invite only -- you might or might not be given an invitation.
I don't want to sugar coat this but as a junior, you can get a bid but chances are reduced more than what it was this year.

Thank you for your suggestion. I’m not sure what rolling open bidding means. Would I need to email somebody? How do I know what sororities do that?

Its unfortunate but the other house that invited you for pref thought y would be a good fit amd saw something in you and so it's sad when pnms dont take a chance with them. I would try for informal like was said it can be hard but there are sometimes sororities that take people even without invitation if you're open minded, it's hard to get a bid as a junior, but not impossible. If greek life is really what u want I would be open minded and try informal at every place even if it includes the house u didnt think would fit. No matter where u join you will find your group. Best of luck girl, I know formal is a rough process:/

Thank you. Unfortunately, the snap bid has come and gone bc I did not accept it. Everything happened so quickly and i needed to make a fast decision. J

Thank you for your response. I actually did get a Snap Bid today, but to another sorority that I did not want to join. My Rho Gam told me there would be a chance to get a snap bid, after she called me today, but that it is not all that common. Unfortunately, it was for a house that I dropped early on.
