today i saw/am going to see:
alpha phi
delta gamma
zeta tau alpha
tri delta
kappa theta alpha
alpha xi delta
alpha chi omega
i really liked delta gamma, alpha phi, and alpha chi omega yesterday but today they didnt seem to care that much about their philanthropies. do chapters have to care about all of these things or is it okay if i dont care that much? the philanthropy stuff isnt as important to me as their sisterhood, but everyone spent so much time on it.
now im torn. should i ask the rest of my chapters about other stuff or stay on topic?

Some girls really connect with their philanthropies, and others don’t. It’s not a moral failing to care more about other things or other causes. I know one of my own sisters is far more passionate about helping animals than our philanthropy, but she still puts in the work where required.
I’d say it’s easier for sisters to connect with philanthropies they can get actively involved in hands-on, like Girl Scouts or St. jude’s, as opposed to things that have necessary barriers around them, like CASA. None of these are bad, just ask yourself if you’ll be able to see yourself working for these causes every year. I know people who personally disagree with Autism Speaks or Susan G Komen so they wouldn’t love being obliged to those causes as sisters.
I know fornmy chapter we do care how much you connect to our philanthropy but also like to see what work you are passionate about, so it doesn’t discount you to care more about a different cause. I would urge you to stay on topic but if your conversation naturally sways more into sisterhood, that’s okay too.
