Are you a sophomore or are your grades on the lower side (<3.0)? Those are the two biggest factors for being dropped the first round, especially if you thought you had good connections.
I agree with the other posters. Continue through Pref Round. Hopefully you can find a fit after you meet more people and go through more rounds. If you still don't like the houses you have after Pref Round, don't sign the agreement. You can then do informal later, especially if you can improve grades this semester or meet girls already in houses that can vouch for you during selection.
Your other option would be to trust the process. There are plenty of PNMs who initially don't like their house much at first, but make connections later on - like after they get their Big or make friends within their pledge class - and end up loving their chapter.

I think you should definitely stick with it till at least pref because you have nothing to lose! but you have everything to lose if you drop now. If things don’t work out after pref rounds, then you can drop before bid day and then try and do a COB bid from some sororities that do them!

Obviously nothing wrong with choosing not to join Greek life, but since you mentioned finding it exhausting and superficial, I'd recommend informal if you want to take another crack at it. It's so much less stressful, you go to less houses and not all on the same day, and conversations tend to be better (as actives, informal can seem superficial because of the structure and topics we have to cover).
Of course, that's only if you're still considering joining. Do what works best for you! There's plenty of other groups at OSU, including service and professional Greek Letter Organizations.
