Please, don’t go through focusing on tiers. You will grow disappointed in your greek experience over time or get bored because it’s just a long term popularity contest to you.

If you want the answer to if Kappa will grow overall as a chapter and be a good member of the Greek community, I think that will be something that is dependent on you as a new member. They are having a genuinely good & positive presence. Everyone was expecting to hate them coming back (in fact, majority of chapters voted no to bringing them back last year, but SFL overruled it). Even with the preconceived idea that they would hate them, chapters have been pretty receptive and like them. They haven’t been trying to be better than everyone; they’re just being them.

Kappa is a solid chapter. I can tell you i saw both Zeta and Kappa recolonization, and i believe Kappa has a better support and will be more liked. Their nationals is local so they are very supportive of our chapter, and they genuinely are nice to other chapters (which leads me to believe they’re nice to each other). Their retention rate is relatively high thus far as well.

Based on looks alone and the girls i know in it, no. Its not likely they'll be in mid tier any time soon. With that being said, if the girls in the chapter dont care why should you? Tiers literally mean nothing and (for as much as this website makes it seem like it is the hottest topic of greek life) it seriously will have no effect on your experience in a chapter. Go into recruitment with an open mind, talk to people, and join a chapter with girls you would actually like to spend 80% of your next 4 years with. Thats the reason why girls stay in chapters, dont be the idiot who decides to not give a chapter a chance because of dumb stuff they read online or worse the ones who fake it to get into top tier and then drop because they have nothing in common with the other girls.
