by: rusheeWhat are the reputations of Phi Psi, TKE, Sigma Chi, Phi Delt, Delt, and Kappa Sig. I want to join greek life and possibly be a member of one of the bigger fraternities.

phi psi and tke are going to be the top two fraternities next year. sigma chi is going to be really hurt for a while because of their membership review. phi delt has no real presence but somehow hangs out with some of the big 6 sororities. delt is a rising fraternity thats in love with kd. and kappa sig is a mid-tier fraternity that has potential. other fraternities you could look into too are pike, ato, and sae. they're all just below the 6 you listed but its clear they're rising fast and consistently hang out with upper mid sororities and occasionally a big 6.

you couldnt pay my dues for SigChi to have me join there now, they only have 30 members, their alumni are sick of them, and they will fall through the ground like LChi did 10 years ago. If you want to go greek, hangout with everyone, and save some money id go Delt, KapSig, SAE, or Pike, theyre all on the rise, and will be hanging with the top six by the time you graduate if they dont already.
PhiPsi will always be fine unless they get in trouble which here at OSU isnt hard, TKE is constantly in trouble and a bunch of DOouchecanoes, and PhiDelt is going to have no one to hangout with since as the person above me put it, Kappa and DG are the only ones they party with and those two sororites are "going, going, gone"

To look at everywhere during rush. Phi Psi and TKE will be extremely competitive to get into since they don't have to compete against Sigma Chi and Sammy really anymore. You wouldn't want to only go to their events and then end up not getting a bid. Make sure you try to give fraternities outside of top tier a chance.

First of all TKE sucks now, but also TKE and Phi Psi don't even rush the same kids so odds are you won't like both or even one of them. #RUSHACACIA

Simple answer for you:
Does stuff with all 6 of the top sororities: Phi Psi, TKE
Does stuff with some of the top sororities: Delt, Phi Delt, Kappa Sig
You can't go wrong with those fraternities right now. They all do stuff with the best sororities. Rush them and see where you fit in. And sure there are some up-and-coming fraternities out there, but if you're looking for a big one those are your options with Sammy gone and Sigma Chi losing a bunch of guys.

you have to decide what makes someone the best to you, if its having a big house and hanging with the "top tier" sororities then yes. If we were in the south and people actually valued philanthropic donations, inner-greek and campus involvement, and grades; basically the top tier there can do it all, then no, Id say phi psi is not the best. And fraternities like ATO (who hangs out with everyone, is present at other greek events, and has their own very successful philanthrophy event) or Delt (hangs out with Top and Mid tier, is present as well, and shares an event) would be the best.

Dude you have no idea what you are talking about. ATO wouldn't be top tier anywhere if you aren't top tier at Ohio State then you aren't going to be top tier in the south. What Phi Psi and TKE do raise a lot of money for their respective philanthropies and I just saw the grades reports and Phi Psi has had higher grades then ATO in the past. ATO sucks you are bottom tier. Can't even get football block with Tri Delt. It's funny that DDD picked Pike over you guys.
