kkg thrive
by: keyKKG will return and thrive. Many incredible women fell through the cracks this year and lots are considering Kappa. I think they will build themselves up for suuureee

Not that this isn't necessarily true but la lot ess PNMs as a whole went through recruitment this year, meaning a lot less PNMs of all types "fell through the cracks" the one thing this means though is KKG doesn't get to be as selective as zeta was since they realistically won't have as many girls attempting to join. I also think the insane cost of their dues and the reputation KKG still has within the community will not help them, so to be honest, no I do not think KKG will thrive, especially at first. And you KKG people who are paid to make these posts on here can downvote this as much as you want, but anyone with a brain and basic understanding of the Greek system would agree.

I’d like to preface this by saying that once this colony class is chosen, we should all be accepting and welcoming of them since none of them can be held responsible for the Kappa of the past. We can’t blame them for PHA disregarding the vote, and we can’t act like they’ll immediately revert to old Kappa ways until proven otherwise.
That being said, I think the whole “lots of girls fell through the cracks” thing is BS. Dropping out of recruitment because you think you’re too good to be in Tri Delt or whatever isn’t “falling through the cracks” it’s being a snob. There are SO many great chapters on this campus and to turn your nose up at them is ridiculous. It’s not like Ole Miss with variable quota where the top chapters literally only have like 100 spots so PNMs do trickle down or face really heavy cuts. And even if they do get a group of beautiful, smart, funny, social, empowered women, it will take a while for them to rise since they won’t be able to recruit a class through formal until next spring. So i think they should go unranked until after their first recruitment, and then see where they are.

KKG will 100% thrive. There were record numbers of PNM's this year, so they can be more selective than zeta, and they also have a very nice house. The headquarters of Kappa are in Columbus, so that will provide a lot of support. A TON of girls fell through the cracks this year meaning they were dropped from the entire process on pref day, NOT dropping because they think they are too good for Tri Delt. The pledge classes were smaller to make sure Kappa got good girls, and they will.

obviously no one will actually know how they turn out until bids are given out, but from talking to my friends who are rushing kappa they seem really excited. I do know that they had over 500 girls sign up for interviews (only about 200 bids) so it's all about what types of girls they actually end up taking. The real test will be how they brand themselves after bid day, if I had to guess they will probably take girls who won't cause any big scandals like before, and lay low to show everyone they aren't like the "old kappa". They definitely won't start off at the top like some people think, but I don't think they will start from the very bottom either. It all depends on who they take, and if they are social and put their name out/have events soon after bid day. Bids should be out by the end of the week so we will see soon enough.

If 500 signed up, and 200 bids are allowed, my bet is that Kappa will select on grades and references. They will take legacies unless there is a horrid reason not to.
BUT this also means there are potentially 300 women who might be interested in COB. This makes it a win/win situation.

Kappa is getting some great girls. If we are honest this is not a normal colonization, they had 100 year history at OSU and a House coming into this.
