question about "tiers" and ranks

I've noticed that certain houses on here get called out for self ranking a lot when others think they are put too high which made me think about how the tier system works. Do houses here ever move up or down? How well or how poorly does a house have to do to drop or raise? It seems like no one wants the order to shift or when someone does put a house higher than it used to be, they get called out for self ranking.
I know this is pointless I was just curious! :)

it does take a long time, and honestly over the years things haven't shifted THAT much, but there definitely have been shifts in rank/tiers over the years since i was a freshman (current senior). IMO houses fall and rise rank-wise quicker than they do tier-wise. for example, a top house who didn't get a great PC may drop in rank among the other top houses, but they'd still be "top tier" until it becomes a consistent thing. basically, a house getting one good or bad PC isn't going to shake things up much.
also keep in mind that top houses to some people are houses with conventionally attractive girls, while top houses to others are more beyond surface level, so ranking them is all subjective and outside of this website doesn't matter at all.

of course any house that is overtaken by another is going to upset when others are saying so on here. but tiers are 95% based on how much frats want to bang the girls in that chapter so don't pay attention to them. they are really meaningless everywhere except this site.

sad but true. i will say some houses don't have the nicest girls or the best sisterhood, but that's not what the rankings are based on with this site. it's unfortunately all just superficial stuff that doesn't really matter. thats why PNMs should avoid it.

it won't let me comment directly under "rise and fall's" post, but yes, houses definitely flip flop over the years as far as ranks, but "tiers" are about competitiveness so generally it takes a few years of recruiting well for a house to rise into a higher tier or a few years of recruiting poorly to fall into a lower one.

thanks! just seems like from reading here that even if some houses do end up doing consistently well, they still won't "move up" because no one wants to see things change.
