I thought the theme was fine, but some of the captions on pics and stories were questionable. I wouldn't think much of it though IMO they are one of the most down to earth/diverse chapter here I don't think they had any intent of cultural appropriation

after what happened at alabama and even the incident here at ohio state it is clear that greek life needs to learn to embrace other cultures. i think they sent a very strong message and anyone who thinks they are "appropriating" has clearly missed the point.

I think they're fine they were just making a theme a popular artist which is pretty common last year fuzzy did views by drake. I don't think there's any appropriation because they're literally just enjoying a band

Would you have been uncomfortable if the theme was around a country song? I am of color and not a while girl, and I see no problem in that because the theme is around the music. If you feel comfortable doing a theme song with a song like that then you must only feel uncomfortable because the song is made by someone of color?

no, it's because the original post asked about cultural appropriation which recently had referred to the cultures of minorities and imitating them for entertainment purposes rather than for informative purposes. Women of color are minorities in Greek life and yes, being white I would be nervous that I was doing something disrespectful. I understand that you are trying to reverse my words, but my comment wasn't about being uncomfortable around another's culture, but more about hoping to come off as respectful rather than ignorant. Anyway, we all obviously have different options here but I apologize if I didn't word my post correctly.

Can you all relax? I'm not even in DG but this is literally a group of girls who made a theme based on MUSIC. Stop acting like they did anything wrong. Is this what happens when a house gets the best PC? Everyone starts to look for reasons to tear them down? Again I'm not in the house but you are reaching hard here.
