by: :’)So I only preffed two houses and got the call this morning that I didn’t get a bid which is okay because I respect the process and respect that the houses have to make cuts and that they might have just not seen me fitting in their chapter this year. My gpa was a little low coming in so I knew that would also effect my process, but I’m trying to ray hopeful that I might possibly get a snap bid and if not want to go through informal recruitment because I really do think Greek life has a lot to offer. I know the snap bids are only if I chapter doesn’t fill up all of their spots but does anyone know when they have to ask you by? And if anyone has gone through informal recruitment and has any advice that would be great.

You maximized your options every round and put all the houses you preffed on your bid card? And you didn't receive a bid? I am really confused how you could have been cut... Regardless if you were you are a top candidate for a snap bid so best of luck. You would find out before the bid day ceremony if you were offered a snap bid and you would sit with you recruitment group just like anyone else.

That’s the risk of suiciding. Things got heated on this site last night about the subject. I understand if you don’t see yourself in a certain house, but it also disqualifies you from being a quota addition to a house you would have been happy in. All is not lost informal, kappa, and rerushing are all options. Snap bids may also still be available. Try and stay positive.

Hopefully things will work out. At least you have a very good and commendable attitude about the subject and the process. I'm sorry that girl made you feel overwhelmed. Even tho for bid purposes it isn't quite right to not maximize, you did what was comfortable to you. Definitely try informal and be open minded, even to the chapter that offended you if they are doing informal. One girl doesn't define a chapter. You are very realistic and respectable about it all and I think a chapter would be lucky to have you. Follow sorority Instas for informal events and reach out to the person who emails you your recruitment info that u are interested in informal. Best of luck!

I didn’t maximize my options on pref round. I went to three sororities but only put two because I had a bad experience at one house where the girl I was talking to was rude to me on a subject in my life I’m particularly sensitive about. After looking back I of course do regret not putting that house down because I know that the chapter is not defined by the house but I have bad anxiety and I was just really overwhelmed by one girl. And I understand that some people really hate girls who don’t put a house down which is okay because like I said I do regret it but it wasn’t because I thought I was better than the house by any means. Thankyou so much for your advice !!
