odds as a junior

by: junior

So, as a sophomore now I regret not joining a sorority. What are my options? I know I just missed formal recruitment. Is it too late to get involved with Greek life? Jw. I’m not dying to join, but I love the idea of having a sisterhood.

This girl is full of it. I joined my chapter as a junior & couldn’t be happier. Try informal this semester & fall.

First, KKG will definitely be recruiting Juniors.

There will also likely be a few houses doing informal recruitment. If you have friends in chapters already, maybe talk to them or see if any chapters advertise events for this semester.

You can also do informal in the fall as a Junior and see how it goes. Again, you'll have the best chance if you already have connections, but it's not necessary. If you think you'll be around for a 5th year, bring that up too.

Lastly, you can do formal recruitment next year as a Junior. You'll probably face automatic cuts in some chapters, but if you have excellent grades and a good personality, you'll likely still get a bid. Several Juniors go through every year.

You're definitely not too old. You just need to be more open minded and know going In that most houses will favor younger girls since they will have more time in the chapter. However if you're interested at All, definitely check out informal. Your chances are better because you will get to know girls and not be cut so early simply from age. It's possible you will not find somewhere or it won't be for you, but you should absolutely give it a try.

Probably a stupid question, but where do I go to look into informal? I found kkg information already btw.

Chapters will post if they’re having open informal events. You can reach out to PHA and ask anytime after tomorrow too and they will tell youZ

tbh I don’t have any close friends in chapters and I don’t wnat to seem like a user. Will it be that big of a deal if I don’t?

A user?

If you mean loser, then no. If they aren't doing open recruitment, they'll nicely tell you so. Honestly I'd say it shows initiative.

No, I meant a “user.” I don’t want to come off as only hitting them up to try to join their sorority.

I'll say it can be easier if you know people but it doesn't mean your out. Jyst try to attend as many informal events as you can and for as many houses as u can to maximize your chances. Reach out to houses and tell them you're interested.

Can probs contact the people in charge of greek life. Sometimes they will even put u on a list and send that list top houses doing informal of they aren't already filling the spots. Honestly tho email or even like dmimg a chapter on Insta if u see they are participating in informal which they will announce soon.
