I dropped. I didn’t fit in at either of my prefs. I think I fit in better with sororities that dropped me, but other girls just impressed them more, so I was dropped by them. I was definitely one of the girls who slipped through the cracks. I’m very turned off by Greek like now at this point. Its not for everyone.

^^Okay please chill out. Greek life really isn’t for everyone. You probably got into your top pick house, so you have no idea where they’re coming from.

I hate to be this person, but no PNM is above any house. The majority of girls who pull themselves out during pref rushed solely for “top” through “upper middle/middle” chapters and get upset when none of them are on their list. Active members know their chapters and what characteristics they need in a pledge class more than any PNM. If a chapter invited you back it means they saw something in you, contrary to some beliefs, even the so-called “bottom” chapters cut girls. Most girls are better off signing a bid card and testing it out and THEN if you still don’t like it after a few weeks pull out before initiation and re rush.

I had DG and aephi and I’m so nervous!
I want DG. aephi sounded very forced and fake when they read their letters.
DG just seemed more genuine and fun and cool!!!!

AEPhi (not my chapter) might've just been nervous. Recruitment can make things seem more forced. If you do get a bid there, please try to give them a chance on Bid Day. They may surprise you! But I hope you get your dream house :)

Everyone complaining and dropping, stop being so entitled. You should be honored if ANY house wants to give you a bid & give them a chance because they know their house & if you’ll fit WAY better than you do.

EXACTLY! I cannot emphasize this enough. You do not know after 4 days if you don't fit in a house. Recruitment is so awkward and fake that it really skews what a chapter really is. If you aren't willing to give a house a chance (given that the house(s) you have left have members who have done something terrible to you), then I have zero pity. I get that it's stressful and hard to not take personally, but you're all young adults and need to learn how to act like it. You can't do this when interviewing for jobs.

Too true. Can't have any pity for girls who have perfectly good options left and drop without giving them a chance thinking they won't fit in despite knowing next to nothing about the chapter. No matter how many times pnms are told this every year entitled girls drop and suicide and complain about being too amazing and crying about specific cuts. It's so ignorant.
