Don’t ever expect a snap bid. They aren’t common. A chapter that doesn’t meat quota when numbers work out may extend bids BEFORE BID DAY to girls who didn’t get invited back for the last round or two. Many chapters prefer to do informal after unless they’re only one or two girls short.

To add to what @No said, sometimes people confuse the term Snap Bid with COB (Continuous Open Bidding) or an informal bid. These bids can be given out any time after recruitment at a house's discretion provided they are under chapter total. Informal bids are most often for girls the chapter already knows and are only given in small numbers, if at all.
