Is a legacy with her sister still an active in the chapter a shoe-in for a bid?

Many houses put their direct legacies at the top of their bid list. If she’s not a fit, they’ll have to get rid of her before pref.

Mom, sister or grandma in a particular sorority. Some houses recognize indirect legacies like aunts and cousins.

Are you a legacy? If so, ask the person.

If not, don’t worry about it.

pnms with a sitting legacy in the chapter are very hard to drop like how do would one tell someone ya we didn't like ur sister so we dropped her

The sister who is currently a member is typically asked to leave the voting room when the PNM sister is discussed. That is how we do it and I have a few of friends in other chapters and they say they do this.

Don't know what they discuss when the in house sister is out of the room and don't know what they talk about.

When I was a Rho gam a DG told me that all legacies that make it to their pref round are automatically put on their bid list so they try and cut those that aren’t good fits before that

Everyone who prefs is on the bid list legacy or not. Its a matter of where they are ranked on it.

this depends on each chapter of each sorority. There are some chapters that only consider legacies to their actual chapter, not their sorority as a whole, there are some sororities that have no national policy, and there are some that only include mothers and sisters, while still others include grandmothers, great grandmothers, cousins, and step sisters. Don't rely on a legacy to get you in anywhere if you're not the right fit, but it is a nice bond if you have it!

All houses are different regarding legacies. I know one house for a fact if make to pref round then you can be any where on their bid list. if you rank them #1 but you are close to the botton theres a good chance you won't get in. But the sorority I belong to legacies that make it to pref round you are top on our bid list.
I do know a situation where a sister was a senior and her freshman sister didn't get a bid because she was to low on their bid list.
