reminders
by: sorority
Just some reminders as you all start to tear apart chapters on Greek rank or dissect who you’re going to get a bid from. Not to be harsh, but to give genuine perspective.
•A “good convo” or “good connection” one day means nothing. We are literally trained to have a good connection and good conversation with everyone. Comparing it to another chapter means nothing because you may have got the girl during her “tired” or “off” moment at an “awkward” house.
•Grade cuts are still happening. Legacy cuts are still happening. Every type of cut has levels. So don’t assume you’re in the clear anywhere yet.
•You May get dropped from everywhere after this weekend, especially if you only had a handful of houses today. Try not to spend all week working yourself up to love a house you had this weekend because there’s a good chance they’ll be gone from your list. Being dropped is okay. You still have time to join a chapter.
•Being rude to any house will very likely get you cut from all houses.
•Outfits on our end should not be why you don’t like a chapter. We don’t have a say. Our recruitment chair(s) usually decide and we have to do what they say. It’s usuallt not decided by the chapter. Don’t b shallow looking at chapters.
•We have to be shallow sometimes. Sometimes if we ask you to dress business professional and you don’t fit those guidelines, we can’t expect you to do so when we ask you to if you’re in the chapter. Sometimes when it comes down to it, appareance may be the deciding point when we’ve eliminated everything else.
•You won’t know that somewhere is home usually until you’re there on bid day. Some girls have those feelings, but a lot of girls end up faking excitement when they open their bid or are disappointment. By the time you get there, you’re usually happy because the process works.
