Houses I see having different recruitment seasons:
DZ: they’re really killing their social media game. Pics are cute, girls are cute, hashtag is cute. I see them pulling a better class than usual.
KD: I don’t see them pulling as nice a class as usual. With Kappa coming up, I see more girls dropping for them after being cut from higher ranked chapters. They haven’t really made much of a presence this year.
AEPhi: I see them pulling a better class than usual as they’ve been around campus more this semester and their social media game has gotten better. Their recruitment style will make or break them.
ZTA: they’re going to pull more average girls while they’re looking for “top tier” girls. KKG coming up makes them not the newbies on campus so it’s going to look not great that they still don’t have a big enough house to recruit from & haven’t really been a huge presence.
AOII: Will still have a small class (maybe smaller as people drop for Kappa), but I think they’ll have a better class than their usual. They really have been making an effort and I think it’s been noticed. I have to say, they are slowly getting cuter too.
KKG: Will get a lot of girls who drop for them over a “lower house”, but all in all Will end up with a very average class. Likely won’t get numbers or a turn out like ZTA since they have such high dues, their live in policy, and don’t have Shelley Meyer endorsing them like ZTA, but the Beta house will help them and now that Meghan Markle is future royalty and was a KKG, they’ll use that too. I see them doing not as well as ZTA, but climbing and establishing much faster than ZTA and passing them soon. \n\n\n\n\nThis is just a fun rant, and overall, may the odds be ever in your favor ladies. Pretty much agree with this.
I think KKG will get a lot of the plain girls with money that are dropped from Pi Phi. And probably a lot of Upper Arlington girls too.
Of all the houses, I expect ZTA, AOPi, and AEPhi to suffer the most from KKG coming to campus. PHA really needs to add a rule that if you suicide a house after pref round, you're ineligible to join a colony for at least a semester. Always irritates me when PNMs do that because it messes up quota numbers for everyone.

Agree with some sentiments here, but not all. I do agree that it's typical for PNMs to drop formal recruitment in favor of a colony if they only have generally considered "bottom" chapters left, and it's no doubt that KKG will come out strong given their past and national strength. However, I doubt that many PNMs care that Meghan Markle was a Kappa at Northwestern (it's not even in Ohio, so it's not like she's colonizing the chapter or anything). Additionally, I doubt that their colony will negatively affect KD, because while they're not "top of the top" with DG/APhi/Pi Phi they're definitely top tier in their own right, and there are few PNMs would turn up their nose at a bid from them. No idea where the cut off will be for girls dropping to pursue Kappa, but it definitely doesn't start with KD.

I disagree with this (agree with the OP). When people name drop celebs that have been in the chapter, the girls who are looking for superficial reasons to join Greek life flock to it. I went through zta recruitment and they mentioned Famous people who were zetas and it caught my attention, and I really wasn’t even looking for superficial reasons . KD is top tier in their own right, but I never see them do anything or wear letters on campus and I don’t really think enough PNMs know about them being “top” to really choose them over Kappa because they’re the break between top tier and mid tier in my opinion

I agree with the OP a ton. I really do wish there was a rule about not being able to rush for a semester if you suicide. I know it isn't practical, as it would make girls possibly be in a chapter they clearly don''t want to be in, even though a lot of times they do not have good reasons for dropping them in the first place, but it would really make the numbers work much better. Best of luck to the lower houses like DZ and AOPI. They have clearly put in so much effort and are really making large improvements. It would be such a shame if they saw no effect due to Kappa.

I agree with the sororitys you named but I also think DZ will be hurt a ton by KKG joining. A lot of girls will be hoping for a top or mid tier sorority and when they get cut a lot of them will drop out of recruitment to try for Kappa. Its sad but a reason why the bottom tier have successful pledge classes is from these girls who decide to give them a chance in the later rounds and then realize that they would be a good fit there. The entire bottom tier will suffer despite any strides that they have taken this semester.
