DG is undoubtably in the top 3 chapters on campus, usually closer to 1 or 2. That being said, it is clearly going to be competitive in the sense that they will absolutely have a full pledge class.
However, you shouldn’t really think of recruitment as a competition because it’s mutual ranking and you’re not going to be able to really fake your way into a top house. You’re either going to be the fit they’re looking for and want you, or not. You’ll either fit in or won’t, then combine that with a lot of politics that come along with most top tiers.

Please DO NOT come into recruitment betting that you’re going to get into one of your top houses. If you get dropped for any reason besides GPA or your other info you give them on your application and conversations, it would probably be because they know their sisters better than you do from just 2-3 conversations at each house.

Yes, it is hard to get a bid from DG. They are almost certainly the most sought after house on campus. And with that said, it is also hard to get a bid from the other top houses or ANY house you wouldn't be a great fit in. I know girls who have pref'd all three top houses, but got cut from lower tier houses after the first round. A top house, like DG, or any other house, is not going to cut you simply because they can but because they see other girls who would be a better fit. So go into recruitment without expectations and with an open minds. DG is a very fun and popular sorority but it doesn't mean it's the perfect house for everyone!

oh I agree with this as well - plenty of girls pref top houses and/or mid and bottom houses. Tiers don't seem super defined during recruitment as they are on this website so just keep an open mind! :)

It's competitive but for different reasons than say Pi Phi or A Phi - what's cool about DG is they really take a diverse group of girls. Yes you'll have the conventionally beautiful girls but not all of them are like that. They seem to be the chapter of the "top tier" that really looks for personality as far as being a good fit for the house, rather than only money/looks and you'll see that when you meet the girls. That's why they are a great house. It's a wide range of girls from all different backgrounds who still really get along with each other. Like an above poster said, if you get cut by them or any house, don't get upset. You will still end up in a house where you belong.

Yeah, its diverse from whites having blonde or brunette hair and thats about all the diversity there is to DG.

I was comparing them to the rest of greek life here, which isn't super diverse to begin with. Also, I was pointing out that they don't choose exclusively "hot" girls. There are gorgeous girls in DG but that doesn't seem to be what they look for in a PC. Way more diverse as a whole than the rest of the top tier and a lot of middle tiers.
