aopi

I’m just curious if anyone knows of any schools where aopi is actually good?? The other two major public non commuter schools in Ohio (Miami and OU) have aoii as their worst chapter as well according to my friends in Greek life there. Kentucky is the same way. Is this just a coincidence, a regional weakness in the Midwest, or are they not strong really anywhere?

They are bad at a lot of schools because their nationals focuses on having quantity over quality. They have tons of chapters, but their nationals doesn't take the time and effort to build these chapters up and make them top.

Like even though Kappa, Tridelt, and Dg don't have as many chapters nationally, you can tell their nationals spend time developing them. They always have beautiful houses on campuses and their nationals are super involved with them.

Organizations always come down to their nationals thats why its so important to join nationally strong chapters and not just chapters that are top at the school.

not every greek life chapter should be TRYING to "make themselves top." We can all just coexist and be unique parts of the community and be our best selves without the focus being simply on "being better" than others. Wish this OP would understand that. this is 2017. Top tier or bottom tier, all greek chapters at osu add an awesome part to the community. Who cares what tier, especially nationally. the amount of time this person has put into this topic concerns me. Maybe pick up a hobby?

Auburn and UT

If you are referring to University of Texas, they aren't on campus. If it's Tennessee, we don't care.

theyre middle tier there. truth is though top, middle, bottom don't really matter so long as the chapter is healthy. the struggle for aopi here is that their chapter hasn't been healthy since gphi and zeta joined, and that will only get worse as kappa recolonizes. Girls rather risk a new chapter than aopi, then aopi keeps missing quota and total, has to recruit more often (fall and snap bids) which costs each girl more and more money bc they can't spread it across as many members. Then even some of the girls who like them the year after can't afford to join, and it becomes worse and worse.

^that's the truth behind why national orgs want strong, middle to upper middle chapters. they don't want trouble from a top tier or the risk of a bottom tier

They’re supposed to be a top chapter at Slippery Rock and a solid mid at U Toledo (from my understanding). I know Toledo isn’t quite as big as OU and OSU and Slippery Rock is a much smaller campus, but there are a few chapters that are thriving up north. I know some people at Kenyon (which is TINY) who went to an AOPi presentation when they tried to colonize there and were actually pretty impressed with them. Could be a numbers game (quantity v quality), could be they do better on smaller campuses where their chapters could mind themselves more

some of y'all are so ridiculous. AOPi isn't top at UF - I think you're confusing them with ADPi. They also don't have a chapter at UT, so they can't be top there. They do have a strong chapter at UGA, though.

by: Uhh??

They have a chapter at UT, go on UT's Greek rank or their instagram??

The powers that were in the 1700s and 1800s decided that two states would eventually have UTs: texas and TENNESSEE.
