hazing

by:

Which houses have been accused of hazing? How many have been suspended or shut down in the past three years? Why would anyone risk hazing? Getting suspended, or worse, getting shut down are majorly bad for everyone! Why do people haze when they know its wrong, mean, doesnt make people like you, and can have drastic consequences?

I got hazed, I wouldn't say it was especially bad but it was my no means easy. After going through it I have no idea why it's a thing. I get the concept that pledging shouldn't be easy and it makes you want it more, but frankly being hazed by my future brothers in no way shape or form made me appreciate being part of the brotherhood any more. I would have loved my chapter regardless of If i got hazed. Hazing is just a unnecessary tradition that frankly I wish we got rid of. The cost of one pledge dropping and reporting us just isn't worth the imagined character building that hazing causes. Pledges should know their place and that they're not on the same level as brothers, but hazing acomplishes nothing.

I disagree, I got "hazed" too (nothing bad) and it brought my brothers closer together and gave us some funny memories to look back on. Some of my fondest memories from pledging were because of "hazing"
