I'm 19 and go to Uchicago; everyone from Illinois I've talked to always made fun of OSU. Maybe OSU has a good reputation in ohio and a not-so-good one elsewhere or something

And you really think that OSU's academic status shot up so high in the 1-2 years you've been out of high school? No offense (read: I am insulting you because you seem dense) but it sounds like you wouldn't exactly make the cut. If you're interested maybe a branch campus would take you?

Uchicago's average act is around a 33, we're a bit better than OSU... I got an acceptance letter from OSU as well, and rejected it so I could go to Uchicago. Uchicago has also been rated the #3 college in America according to USnews, putting it ahead of many Ivies.

OSU is quite simply a safety school for many top colleges and Ivies; I'm sorry you're insecure about that, but it's true.
