informal

When recruiting for informal, how much do the sororities look at your GPA's?? I have above a 2.5 so I'm allowed to participate, but my gpa still isn't that great

most sororities still have gpa minimums that they will hold you to, so it will be very very hard to get into any chapters that value grades very highly, but some sororities may still offer you a bid. like it may hurt you but it's definitely possible so don't be too discouraged and keep an open mind. if you really want to join greek life look for a chapter you fit well with. knowing girls in the chapters also helps a lot for informal.

If you have above a 2.5 Gpa, you can most likely pick it up for formal if informal doesn't work out. Getting cut from informal doesn't necessarily mean that they don't want you back for formal (unless if they feel you don't fit their vibe/ritual) it could mean that there were higher GPAs competing for like 3 spots while there's 60 something spots for formal.

Yes, it's less competitive in the fall but I believe all sororities except DG (and maybe ZTA) would be required to vote to lower their standards for you due to Ohio State chapter GPA minimums. Unless they need a lot of members, you'd be their last pick even if you're an ideal member in other aspects.

Try hard in classes this semester and go through formal in the fall (if you're taking any summer classes, that'll help too). You'd probably need at least a 2.8 to be competitive at all as an upperclassman, but know now that you'll probably be dropped from a lot of houses early on due to your grade rank and GPA. But that doesn't mean you won't have a great rush and join a great house! I can promise you that you won't be dropped by all houses as long as you're friendly and open-minded during rush.
