I agree. I don't think it's right but I LOLed at a comment in another thread saying APhi is the only sorority that recruits based on looks. I mean yeah they do but so do most other houses here....

I know that Aopi, DZ, GPhi, and POSSIBLY Axo don't do looks. From going through their houses, I think they look at other things. I only know my chapter's things at of these, but from walking around these houses there are no cookie-cutter girls.

Every house a range of attractiveness. If we only recruited based off looks, nothing would get done, so I think you're selling us short. We (PHA) have so many women who are crazy intelligent, passionate about philanthropy, amazing leaders, etc. Sure, some are gorgeous but that's not all that matters so it is incredibly frustrating to me that looks are all we get judged on. Even the hottest girls have other things going for them than their looks. So let's not be so shallow.

Tbh we look at a wide range of factors during recruitment. Yes, looks matter, but to me, it's more about how you present yourself. I don't care if you're a size 00 or a size 12, as long as you can present yourself and your letters well, I'd love to call you a sister. Besides, I see women in all sororities walking down 15th in no makeup and sweats so clearly not everyone is so shallow.

i am in a chapter that does not recruit based on looks. I also think every girl going through recruitment is cute and awesome, so maybe I'm not the best judge, but I can definitely say that there are chapters at osu that look for girls who fit in more than girls who all look a certain way!

I'm in one of the chapters listed in the OP and to be completely honest not once during recruitment has someone said "she's pretty we need her" with that said, subliminally they matter, if we're on the edge with 2 girls we would probably choose the cuter one bc sadly that's how our brains works, but it's never actually brought up as a deciding factor
