variety show winners - not top tier

I know the variety show is just for fun and doesn't really matter, but when was the last time a house won that wasn't a "top" house? I am a freshman now so I don't know about previous winners other than last year and the year before that it was APhi who won. Just curious if other houses ever win besides DG/PiPhi/APhi

Not that I can remember although all different types of houses have placed in the top 3 each year. Not sure the last time a "non-top tier" house has come in 1st, though.

2012: Pi Phi
2013: DG
2014: Pi Phi
2015: A Phi
2016: A Phi
2017: DG

I know most of this from older siblings of mine who were in one of these houses..and I think a while before all of this DG won like 3 years in a row or something.

yeah the houses that have typically placed over the past 4-5 years are those three and theta. also usually chi o kd and dz are pretty good. the rest of the houses are pretty forgettable tbh

top houses do always win but there have been a few times I thought the award should have gone elsewhere
