Can someone who is actually in chi o explain how informal recruitment is working? I have emailed them twice and I haven't gotten any responses.

Unfortunately so many girls have been interested about COB chi o has only been able to reach out to girls with recommendations from other sisters within the chapter. If you haven't gotten a response don't get down about it and seriously consider informal in the fall!!! It is a much more laid back process.

Maybe try another sorority, a few others are still doing informal
