bigs and littles
by: NewbieIs the "big / little" thing selecting randomly or do we get to choose our bigs? I am asking because there is a girl in my house who I've connected with over the last week. I mean everyone is nice but her and I hangout a lot, text and just have a bond already. Is it weird if I ask her to be my "big" in the sorority or is that not how the process works...lol

It's great that you are connecting so quickly! My little and I did as well - but give it a bit. You will probably have a few sisterhood activities before big/little night and form connections with other girls as well. Also, it's not just you who makes the decision (although I think this differs from house to house.) Bigs can be a huge support system throughout your time in greek life and I am sure whoever you are matched with will be a great fit however your house does things :)

and sometimes you will share a big with another girl just depending on numbers. it's a pretty fun night, and the week leading up to big/little reveal is always cool for the new members

All new members will get bigs! The reverse isn't true however, not every active is guaranteed a little. In most chapters, it's a mutual selection process- the potential bigs and littles make a list of like 7-10 girls they want as their big/little, and usually the older members do the matching to make sure everyone gets a big
