legacy
by: PNMI'm a legacy at one of the sororities and I know that that doesn't guarantee me getting a bid. But does it help me some? Like if I get along with the sorority well will being a legacy help me?

Most chapters pre-score PNMs based on a lot of different factors, and being a legacy is one of them. You definitely got a higher pre-score at that chapter for being a legacy. However, unfortunately that is pretty much as far as it goes for most chapters. Each chapter wants to find girls that will feel at home and fit in in their chapter, so they never want to take a girl who would fit better in another chapter. Being a legacy may make them think twice about cutting you, but also won't be a huge factor in them deciding to keep you, if that makes any sense at all!

Correct! Most chapters keep legacies for the first 2 rounds and only put them up for cuts after philanthropy round. But if you fit in with the girls in the chapter, and have good conversations you are usually good! Also, if you make it to pref round and they are your top house, most chapters have to give you a bid. Hopefully this helps!

So if they're like on the verge of cutting you they may give you another chance and keep you through the next round?
