rush gpa

I was wondering if sororities looked at your high school GPA and/or test scores during rush? I had a lot of personal events this semester that caused me to not perform to the best of my abilities and my GPA suffered... I know sororities cut based on GPA so I was wondering how badly this will affect me during rush, even though I had above average test scores and grades in high school?

Yeah sororities are going to look at your GPA. It is one of the first factors of their decisions on whether to cut you or not. If you explain what happened with your GPA during the rounds that may help your case but not for all of them. Some chapters require a minimum of 2.75 or 3.00 and will not budge on that. They don't really care about your grades in high school.

It will affect you, but you can always be honest with the girls about the semester. Don't make excuses but be honest and let them know. They don't look at your HS GPA at all but it won't hurt to explain your case
