transfer student with questions about rushing

Hey I'mean a sophomore level transfer student and was just unsure of the basics of rushing. I'd like to get rush, with no preference to fraternity, but don't know how to start to get involved. I'm assuming different fraternities have events and parties for potential pledges? If anyone could help me get some information that'd be great.
