by: osuI'm super into rushing and I'm definitely going Greek, but I'm not legacy or anything. Does not being one decrease my chances of getting into a top tier one? Also, are recommendation letters mandatory?

No rec letters are not mandatory, most girls don't have them, and it's 100% fine.
And no, being a legacy does not decrease your chances at all
Also tiers really don't matter at all (anyone who says otherwise frequents this website to put other organizations down) choose the house that is best for you regardless of tiers

Being a legacy does not decrease your chances. But thinking you will like certain sororities you never met is not the way to be thinking for recruitment. Keep an open mind because everyone has something positive to offer. Choose the one you like or you will regret it. Once you are initiated you can not join another sorority.
