what are blocks

Hi, im transferring to osu and joining my sorority there. Everybody on this site is always talking about blocks and this is probably going to sound like a really stupid question but what exactly are blocks hahahaha we didn't have them from the school I am transferring from

A sorority and fraternity pair up to pre-game home football games. They usually start about three hours before the game.

in reality they don't really matter because girls go wherever they want, they just usually start at their block partner's place. It's mostly an image thing
