Honestly it doesn't matter unless this is preference night. Come back if you're still confused then. Also, iIf you don't have the grades (at LEAST a 3.5), they're not going to invite you to preference night at all, regardless if you're a legacy or not.

Go through recruitment and see how you fit in with all the sororities and that'll give you a better view than strangers on the internet. Both sororities are great and I love my friends in both.

But also keep an open mind. You might like another sorority better and/or you might get dropped by Theta and Chi O. Most people at OSU don't really end up going with their legacy house tbh.

They're pretty much the same sorority honestly. If youre looking for a funner sorority i would say chi o, but if you're more studious theta would be a slightly better choice. They really are soooo similar though so i'm sure youd be happy in either! But as the person above me said, you may not even join your legacy house. Im a legacy and didnt join my legacy chapter and im really so happy with where i am.

You are making decisions way too early, and with incomplete info. You might be a legacy, but that hardly gets you to pref night with your legacy sororities. This isn't your mother's recruitment where legacies were basically in, regardless. Most sororities are not required to bid you if they think it will not be a good fit. So when you go through, keep an open mind. As previously stated, you could very well find that you would be happier in another house. Don't box yourself in.

The only chapters on campus who really care about legacies at all are AOII and ZTA. The rest don't really care.

I was also a legacy to chi omega and one other sorority. I was cut from both. Quite honestly, it doesn't really matter at OSU if you're a legacy, the only one that really cares is ZTA. Go into recruitment with an open mind and evaluate each chapter separately. I love my sorority and I couldn't see myself anywhere else.
