informal rush

PHA resets total in the fall due to graduation. Some sororities will then be under total and may either 1.) do open events, or 2.) invite a few girls they already know. If they aren't too far under total, they may not do any recruiting at all.
Those that have open house events will usually have two or three events where you talk to several girls. You can come and go as you please. After their open events are complete, they do one or two invite-only rounds before giving out bids. Each chapter may be a little different, but that's the general overview.

We won't know anything official until after PHA resets total. That happens in the start of the fall semester. Informal this past fall began on September 1st or 2nd if I remember correctly.

As someone who went through informal recruitment, I can say that it's very very difficult. A house may have ten spots, but one hundred girls might show up. Many of the girls who receive a bid from a house with a few spots already knew people. In fact, most houses will already have girls picked and won't have open events. I found that I didn't connect to any of the house s that I visited during informal and joined a different house. I would say try it, but know going in that it's incredibly competitive and difficult to get in.

That's not necessarily true. It's different every year. It just depends on numbers. It can also vary by chapter. Best advice would be to try to check out a few different houses.
