working on my career path

by: Honest advice, please ?!

So, college Is where you prepare for life after college, right? My question: If I go to Pepperdine, (join a certain sorority?). will I be able to go to elite LA / Malibu parties to hopefully become a familiar face / network? My career dream is to eventually become an influencer / a brand, etc.
