unbiased house rankings with description

Ok so I am tired of this site being so misleading of what the actual consensus is. Before I dive into this, let me remind you that there is really no "top house" and "top houses" tend to vary year to year. A top house for one person is just their own perspective and of course there are a million different views on each fraternity so it's just best you find out yourself using your own judgement. In this thread I will be rating houses on brotherhood, house, and involvement. Use this as an informative piece at your own discretion
Top Houses - What makes a top house? A top house is fraternities who are involved and engaged with other sororities on a regular basis through philanthropy, functions, and public relations. If you aren't involved you won't have much of a name for yourself.
1. Lamda Chi Alpha ( House: 7/10 Involvement: 10/10 Brotherhood 8/10 )
One of the largest in member size on campus and probably the most diverse group of guys. They are really nice and are known to be very welcoming and fun to party or hangout with. They are super involved in philanthropy and are constantly competing to win. They throw a lot of functions and have a very good party basement that holds a lot of people. There house isn't very traditional and is a little rough and small. The party basement is a plus and they are expecting a remodel soon. This house is perfect if you are looking for a strong social environment.
2. Phi Delta Theta ( House: 9/10 Involvement: 8/10 Brotherhood 9/10 )
Phi Delta Theta is a dry house coming off of a huge suspension after the police raided their fraternity. They have bounced back pretty strong and have a large group of guys in the house. There house is a classic traditional fraternity house. It is really big and has a pretty nice yard. The downside is they can't party in their house but you will find that dry houses tend to have the most cleanest and nicest interior. They are super involved and are known as gentleman on campus. They throw parties at liveouts frequently but they tend to be a rager or sometimes lowkey just depends on the night. Strong brotherhood with a lot of tradition which is perfect for anyone who wants a well-rounded experience.
3. Sigma Alpha Epsilon (House 9/10 Involvement: 7/10 Brotherood 7/10 )
SAE is a large house with a lot of members. There house is huge and very appealing from the outside and have a huge party basement which makes it the place to be on the weekends. They are constantly throwing parties and have really fun dayfades in the spring. There social dominance on campus is what keeps them hovering around the top 3 spots every year. Some might question that they should be #1 but the reason I have them at number 3 is because of their involvement and brotherhood. They participate in philanthropy but they rarely win frequently. They have a solid brotherhood but it just seems a little artificial to have a brotherhood based around drinking. I know that liveout fees are cheap and they have a lot of members who are involved for a year and then kind of drop off. But overall this doesn't hinder the fact they are a great house that knows how to have a lot of fun.
4. Pi Kappa Phi ( House 10/10 Involvement 6/10 Brotherhood 8/10 )
Pi Kapps have a huge and beautiful house that can be easily argued as one of the nicest on campus. These guys are more of your traditional fraternal guys with medium to high numbers. The house has a huge party

basement that attracts a lot of people on the weekends. The house is three stories tall and typically fills with people hanging out in rooms or down in the basement. They are super social when it comes to partying but tend to fall off when it comes to on campus involvement. Like I said earlier, they have that very fratty vibe and sometime come off as douchey. They sometimes seem to act better than philanthropy and never compete to really win. There brotherhood is strong if you are from California. Most of the guys are from California which makes them have kind of a clicky feel. But overall they are a great house with good partying. Pi Kapps has been rising and rising gradually each year because of there social presence on campus.
5. The fifth spot is a tie between Sigma Chi and Sigma Phi Epsilon
Sigma Chi ( House 8/10 Involvement 7/10 Brotherhood 9/10 )
Sigma Chi is a house that has been getting in a lot of trouble lately and is finally cleared of their troubles. They have a decent size house with a small but nice front yard. There basement is decently sized and has held a lot of good parties. The rest of the house is old and a little rough but what do you expect in a wet house. There involvement with philanthropy is shaky and they tend to have decent involvement but nothing that sets them apart. But there own philanthropy "Derby Days" does help them a lot because of how unique and fun it is. They have a strong brotherhood which has helped them continue to do well even when they were facing bad times. The reason why I have them ranked lower than some of you may think is because of the position they are in currently. They are now a dry house and numbers have fallen a little bit. I think they will bounce back strong but it is hard to really say how it will play out.
Sigma Phi Epsilon ( House 9/10 Involvement 8/10 Brotherhood 7/10 )
SPE's have a huge house that is very nice. They have a great location on campus and the inside of the house is usually in pristine shape since they are a dry house. There involvement on campus has always been strong until they faced a severe punishment in the fall which has limited them a little bit. I think they will come back strong with philanthropy this upcoming fall. There social life is a hit or miss when it comes to partying. Since they are a dry house they rely on liveouts. But with all the trouble they got in with drinking it is hard to say how they will proceed with functions. There brotherhood is decent but fell apart a little when a few members left the house after the suspension. There was a lot of tension with the suspension that is prob non existent now that they are cleared. The guys are well rounded in the sense they have the best campus gpa, maintain decent parties/brotherhood/and involvement.

MID TIER HOUSES - no rating, just quick description. Ranks can vary and aren't exact but are accurate enough.
1. Phi Kappa Psi
Starting to gain popularity with there social involvement. Starting to get more involved with philanthropy and have a new house that is super welcoming.
2. DU
Throws decent parties in there pretty good sized house, but tend to be a hit or a miss. Not as involved as other chapters and brotherhood seems decent but has some room for improvement.
3. Sigma Pi
Honestly they would have been considered low tier a couple years ago but they are quickly climbing the ranks. A lot of upside potential. House is kinda of odd since it used to be a church.
4. PIKE
New to campus with a small but decent house for partying. Trying to make a name for themselves but still have some work to do. They have a lot of potential.
4. FIJI
House has been declining but they are trying to bounce back. Mid to low involvement. They have a super nice house but are dry so they rely on liveouts. Functions have declined but the brotherhood has improved.
5. Theta Chi
House is old and a little rustic but they have a decent party basement. Involvement has weakened and so has their brotherhood. They are slowly declining and need a revive.
LOW TIER: Acaicia, Sigma Nu, Kappa Sigma, Delta Chi, Tau Kappa Epsilon, Beta Theta Pi, Delta Tau Delta, Alpha Sigma Phi, Beta Theta Pi, Alpha Tau Omega

You lost me at “Pi kappa phi could have the most beautiful house”. It’s crumbling inside and smells really bad. And they have never been considered over sigep and sigma chi. Having a whole class of their pledges quit and join another fraternity says enough about their brotherhood.
Learn how to spell “lambda”. Lambda doesn’t have a baseement, their party room in on the third floor and they are not remodeling, they are building new.
Phi delt lambda and sigep could pretty much be tied, though two of those houses are dry.
I’ve heard kappa sig is having a good summer rush, so they may be rising.
TKE is closed for a few years so shouldn’t be ranked.
Add AEPi and FarmHouse to low tier since they are still brand new.
Acacia is a good solid mid tier group. They don’t deserve to be in the low tier.
