Greek Life is very fun and is 95% or more of the social scene at OSU. Recruitment numbers are regularly declining, but it is baffling to me as to why. If I hadn't joined greek life, I would have way too much fun. All of my friends from the dorm made their best friends in the dorm because they didn't join greek life and meet more people. While I have good friends from my dorm years, all my best friends were made in greek life. Party scene is pretty good too. Go to any Saturday night party and you can find a few people who have come from U of O or any smaller college in Oregon to party.

if you're hesitant to join Greek life, do it. You'll meet so many cool people and you won't regret it. Who doesn't like to party?? Oregon State has a really strict no hazing policy so don't worry about that.

OSU Greek life is amazing socially over the 3 years that I have been involved in Greek life on our campus I have made friends in almost every chapter, sororities and fraternities alike. However, I have found that the housing is all over the place. Some fraternities have bits and pieces that are really nice while others are super trashy and you can tell they don't know how to use a vacuum. This also can create a barrier for some potential new members, especially among the sororities because everyone wants to live in a beautiful new house and have an amazing sisterhood with genuine members. Due to this, these two ideals do not always align which is unfortunate because it can prevent potential new members from joining the chapter they really fit best in. All in all, though OSU Greek life is high quality in friendships and I would recommend it to anyone looking to make lifelong friends.
