winter rush

Some people think the houses that do winter rush are hurting numbers wise, and that's just not true. Last year Lambda which was arguably the largest chapter on campus at that point did winter rush, and DTD is also pretty big and they do winter rush. The bottom line is some houses do winter instead of spring MAINLY because of their initiation schedule. AEPi initiates the same term that they bid, whereas houses like Lambda and Delt don't, so it wouldn't make sense for Delt to do spring rush and have to initiate the first week back from summer. Does that make sense?

Lambda, Sigep, Phi Psi, Beta, and SAE consistently have high numbers during recruitment, and have really high retention rates through initiation (so they don't need to worry about numbers). I personally know people in every single one of those houses that have gotten bids outside of fall rush, implying either that they did rush, or gave the person a bid despite it not being rush. Winter/spring rush is usually way more chill so there is a good chance most houses do not even really announce to the world via FB page that they are doing rush.
