looking for tradition
by: GuyI'm rushing this fall, and I'm really looking for a house that not only has a great brotherhood, but also has great tradition that comes along with the fraternity. Are their any fraternities that remotely have this?

My opinion would be Sigma Nu, Beta, Phi Psi. They've all been on campus for a long time and have a huge national organization, not to mention great brotherhood. I'm sure theres other houses that can accomplish what you're looking for but those 3 are what comes to mind.

Beta and Phi Psi might not have the largest national organizations but its also about quality over quantity. Just because you're like sigma chi and have 200+ chapter doesn't mean anything. Both Beta and Phi Psi have good local alumni from what I've heard, and like the person said above, they've been on campus a long time and I'd say have the best tradition. Some of my best friends are in sig ep, and believe me, their nationals are terrible.

one thing to consider, if youre looking for tradition as a big part of your fraternity experience, it may be beneficial to look at an up and coming house as well. the new house are in the process of establishing traditions that will be practiced for years into the future, which to me is just as cool if not cooler than following existing traditions. just me tho.

God! It's like phi psi hired someone to sit here and self rank themselves. Get your facts straight...beta and phi psi do NOT have huge national numbers or organizations...sigma chi, sae, kappa sigma, lambda chi, SigEp, sigma nu have the most initiated members world wide. Same for having most chapters nationwide.
