meetings

When do each of the chapters hold their weekly meetings? I'm taking a couple night classes and I don't want that to interfere with attending meetings

It's only one term but you could try and change it if you really want to.

I know tridelt wouldn't allow any excuses (work illness or class) and would fine you anyway but they might change that.
That's a good thing to ask each house later in recruitment

That seems harsh. Thank you that's useful information ☺️

That is not true. Tri delt takes it on a case by case basis as I'm sure every house does and class is always approved to be a reason not to come to chapter

I have a bunch of friends in tridelt and they were in last years pc and they all complained by how much they got fined because of classes and work

Maybe it needs to be explained better to the new girls?

if that's true that's a shame because they look like a really fun house but most people can't afford to be fined on top of all the money that goes into dues. I know I can't but I wouldn't want that that to stop me from being in a great sisterhood

tri delt allows class to be an excused chapter absence if the class is relevant to your major, and work can be excused but is reviewed case by case. basically if a bio major had music 125 at the same time as chapter it wouldn't be excused but if they had bio 101 it would be...if that makes sense.

I'm gunna go out on a limb and say tri delta cares a lot about tradition and chapter is a really important part of that. If the most important info is being told at chapter (which is supposed to be kept secret) it would make sense to put importance on that? Regardless that's not a reason to love or hate a house?

I think we are all aware of the gen ed requirements but we are also aware of the fact that classes that fulfill those reqs are offered every term and at many different times. your first term they would never make you drop or move classes or fine you, but it's a shame to not be able to go to chapter. After your first term you are expected to choose your classes to work around your sorority schedule. I think you're really overthinking it. A rule about fines which is reviewed case by case isn't a reason not to like a house.

"After your first term you are expected to choose your classes to work around your sorority schedule"

seems like tri delta doesn't prioritize school as much as they should. we're here for school first and foremost. maybe thats why your grade ranking is low.

Tridelta has been consistently in the middle for grade rankings this past year so I wouldn't say that the grades are "low". Of course grades could be better, but the same can be said for the majority of sororities here. Once again, we know that we are here to go to school. What the person that posted about being "expected to work around the sorority schedule" meant is that the gen eds can be planned around chapter. There is no denying that music 125 is offered multiple times a day so obviously choose the one that isn't during chapter or take it another term if possible. If you can't, you can talk to standards, and weirdly enough, IT WILL BE EXCUSED! It really isn't that hard to plan ahead people. So let's not make accusations when the majority of people posting on here don't know every detail of how other sororities work.

AXO doesn't fine for missing anything except community service hours. Involvement is encouraged by a point system, like you go to things and earn points and the amount of points you have allow you to go to social functions

Having class is always an accepted excuse. We send emails to every member after chapter with notes on what happened

OP asked when houses have chapter and another person asked "don't you get fined for missing?" and not directly about Tri Delta so it was in response to that. Sorry lol I thought it was relevant
