recommendation letters

How important are recommendation letters to like middle/upper middle tier sororities? I have a good GPA and a lot of community service involvement but I don't know anyone who has gone Greek. Is this going to affect me?

It's not a make it or break it thing like it is in the south. But letters of recommendation will get you noticed before recruitment begins and give you a leg up.
