what are guys expected to wear to rush events?

I am only asking because I have a feeling that showing up in Chubbies and Rowdy gentleman apparel will just make people see you as a total try hard and a bit of a douche. I have seen pictures of Sorority rush wear everyone is in dresses and formal attire, is it the same thing for the fraternities ie. will I need to wear a jacket and tie?

if its a formal event (chapter dinners usually) than dress up accordingly but usually try hards do wear chubbies and boat shoes, and its noticed. wear just regular clothing. something youd wear to a college gathering
