by: UoxoWhy isn't recruitment as exclusive as it should be? I understand for APhi and DG it can be but the other houses... I've seen some gorgeous girls and some weirdos that have slipped through god knows how. They could be better houses if they just focused a little more on appearance (not natural beauty but being able to pull yourself together and trying to look good) and how social the girls are. I could really see houses like Tridelt, AXO, and KKG rising if they did that. Does anyone agree?

A Chi O always recruits weird pcs of half cute half weird and if they recruited a better looking group they could solidify their spot at strong upper middle tier.
Tri delt could be so much better if they didn't have 20% uglies so their recruitment chair should crack down on getting a hotter pc next year and they could be up there closer to Kappa.
Kappa always has a less attractive pc than others but they thrive on being bros and sporty so guys overlook their uglies and want to rage with them anyway.

People seem to know very little about recruitment. Dg and aphi may recruit on looks, but most other houses don't. They recruit based on if they would get along with them in the house or not. And a lot of people may don't know this (unless you're actually behind the scenes in recruitment) but a good amount of dg and aphi new members were DROPPED by other houses because although they were pretty, they were not the kind of person the other houses want. People seem to be under the misconception that every house strives to be like dg and alpha phi; WE DON'T, or else we would have joined those houses.

Plenty of pretty girls get dropped from aphi and dg. There are tons of girls out there who are pretty AND well rounded. The top houses are able to be more selective is all.

Selective for what THEY want...what the other poster was saying was that everyone acts like all the other houses want to be like DG and Alpha Phi and get the kind of girls they are "selective" for, when in reality they don't

First off, recruitment is fairly exclusive. Maybe not like Alabama or some uptight schools in the south but like 200 girls either quit or didnt make a single house here at UO. Also, not every house recruits solely on looks. Yes APhi and DG do but if you judge some of those girls on something besides just looks, theyre nothing special. The houses you mentioned that need prettier girls do NOT strive to be like the top two. Houses should recruit based on personality before considering looks at all.

when are you guys going to understand that until phi and dg mess up and get dropped to middle tier the other houses won't get hot girls? girls who could be the hottest in middle tier drop if they don't get into phi and dg so this is an irrelevant question. no one will move up until the top houses move down.
