There's so much that goes into rush on the other side that you don't know about. That's not true at all.

yeah I had really good talks with a lot of girls in pi phi during rush and I knew a ton of girls in the house who I get along with super well, but my gpa was only 3.6 and I let it slip that I'm paying for college on my own and then they didn't call me back the next day.

I disagree. Unless you're on the other side of recruitment as a member of THAT chapter you just don't know what their process is , what the members are looking for, what their nationals want, what their alumni want...if voting wasn't secret you could probably write a dissertation on it. As someone who has spent hours scrolling through an ICS data base let me tell you that there are A LOT more girls coming into recruitment with 3.9s and 4.0s then you would probably imagine. It looks darn good, but it doesn't make you special. Also why stop caring about grades? Even if that was all they cared about their sisterhood is one of the better ones, especially of the "upper" houses.
