fsl advisor

by:

Bringing up a topic that has some concern. Having a Delta Upsilon alum as Greek advisor with delta upsilon now on campus is a CONFLICT OF INTERESTS. There needs to be another advisor on campus to ensure he is not/does not do anything that gives them an unfair advantage. Not saying he is, but there is an opportunity for him to do so. The UO FSL needs to put in controls so he won't have the opportunity. Would hate to see another fraternity get undercut to give Delta Upsilon an advantage. Concerned fsl member, thinking about the entire fsl community.

With that said, the current advisor has helped improve the FSL community and has done a great job. To continue this path, there needs to be some controls set in place.

You're new. Until Justin got here our advisor was a Pi Phi. You want to talk about favoritism and a conflict of interest? She literally held private dinners for the officers from her favorite chapters to discuss "top chapter" issues. During her last year one of those chapters had an issue with alcohol at an event held on campus. The university reported it to her, but she simply told the chapter to handle it internally, with no repercussions or follow up. It isn't easy to find someone for these kind of jobs. It took almost a year to get a new director, and the other three who came to campus visits were nothing impressive. We'll have a co-director soon. I worked with Justin as an officer and only ever had positive experiences. And if by "good top frats" you mean the people who party the most, then sure.

Thank you... Justin has a job nobody wants. He doesn't want to screw over certain houses. He supports a wet Greek Life, so I don't think he has a vendetta for houses that party, he just has to do his job...

Yeah right. Justin is a horrible advisor. As a 2 year j board member (1 year with no advisor and 1 year with justin), I can tell you he says horrible things about specific chapters and he absolutely plays favorites. We need someone who wants to improve Greek life on this campus, not someone who is still stuck being 21.

Shukas definitely has a list of chapters he wants to get rid of, but those chapters do it to themselves. Of course he has favorite chapters! The ones that get in trouble cause him the most stress and make his job harder, so its fair that he doesn't like them.

Trust me shukas hasn't given us any extra help or favoritism. He's good in his position and he's working his ass off trying to help keep greek life on this campus. He isn't ruining it that's for sure. And another advisor Mallory will be becoming his Co-greek advisor

Let's talk about the number of times DTD has gotten into big time trouble over the past couple years, yet they get a slap on the wrist...favoritism at its finest, and complete BS.

This is a joke right? When Annie was here, no question. Delts were her favorites and she didn't try to hide it. Now though? A year of social probation sure as heck doesn't seem like a slap on the wrist to me.
