are sororities at uo as intensive as those in the south? if I were to join a sorority would I be told exactly what to wear and how to look or anything like that?

Not at all. Oregon is definitely a lot more chill. You'll be told to look presentable for more formal things like alumni events and your philanthropy events, but nothing ridiculous
