Rerushing as a Sophomore
by: goodluckonfinalsI rushed a freshman and made it to bid day, but decided the sorority I got a bid from wasn't for me and was very overwhelmed by the whole process. I have a lot of friends that are in sororities and love it so I am thinking of rerushing this next fall. However, it seems like you get dropped easily if you are a sophomore rerushing. Is this true? Even if I have connections in a lot of sororities will I automatically be dropped? I have a high gpa and am very involved in a lot of clubs and other stuff at the school.

Rushing as a sophomore isn't a huge deal at Oregon. Some people are happy with how it goes the second time around and some aren't- I've seen it go both ways. Keep your grades up, don't be shocked if cuts happen a little faster the second time around, and remember it only takes one to find a home. Good luck!

i had the same experience as you freshman year with making it bid day and getting a bid from a house that i didn’t feel like was for me. i did formal rush again sophomore year, hated it again, dropped before pref. then i did COB with the house that i originally wanted freshman year pref night/bid day and was offered a bid. now i’m a junior living in the house and i absolutely love it. if you want to be in one, try again and trust your gut. but also keep in mind that the system is flawed and that doesn’t define you! you’ll know where you feel at home :)

Not a thing but you are still likely to get dropped by the houses that dropped you this year. You haven't changed so why do you think the outcome will?
