What is Greek life like here ??

Recently committed to UO in hopes of rushing a solid Fraternity my freshman year only to later hear that Greek life is subpar here.. even if this is true does this school still throw down pretty well???

Where would you hear its “sub par”? Based on what? It’s a typical pac 12 school with traditional mansion like houses for Greeks. We have all the top major national frats (based on size...SAE, Sigma Chi and Lambda Chi Alpha have the most total members nationally plus a lot of the smaller ones. Same with sororities.

Ironic considering this schools Greek system is the worst in the PAC 12 (except for maybe Wash U) I actually have no Idea what the point of this university is due to the fact that it’s known for being an okay party school with a good football team

Do you know what ironic means? Also there is no Wash U that is in St. Louis. Its WSU and its greek life is legend.

SAE is getting kicked off, and lambda and sigchi are constantly on probation or thin ice, don’t brother. Try something like dsig or a “mid level” frat and actually have a chance at 4 years on campus

Mid level blows. You’re kidding, right? Dsig is a small national frat with practically 0 alumni connections locally. Lambda hasn’t been on probation for years. Sigma Chi gets warnings, not probation, etc. do you want success or mediocrity?

Look unless you are a live in the past geed, no one cares what house you were in after you graduate. They are just meaningless letters. What you want is 4 good years with people you like and who like you. Stay away from the top 5 and focus in on Sig Nu, DTD, Kappa Sig, Theta Chi. Best of all worlds.

SAE is done. Lambda is NOT on probation and hasn’t been for years. Sigma Chi’s probation ends this term.

Lower frats have lower status. Period. Everyone knows that.

There are way more "lower status" frats that really throw and the top 5 need to get over themselves.
